Marine account book for British marines on board HMS Invincible [in various waters], 1756-1767.

Collins became Captain in the Royal Marines in 1755, fought at Louisburg in 1758 and at Belle Isle in 1761, the same year he was breveted Major. Later, he commanded a marine battalion at Boston (1775-76) and became Commandant at Plymouth (1784-93). The Invincible carried 74 guns. Part [1] notes total prize money received while Collins was Captain under Sir George Pocock, Augustus Keppel, and Edward Boscawen, who was on board in June, 1756. Also, columnar list of marines on board: name, age, height, county of birth, trade, and death or discharge date. Part [2] contains extracts of orders issued during the campaign in the Low Countries: regulations; duty in cantonment, upon the march, or in camp; other standing orders (e.g. concerning plundering and maurauding, etc.); plans of the battalion [signed?] Robert Napier. Also lists mariners who had died on board, with an accounting of their goods.
